|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Hollys first session today was focused on cat desensitisation. Unfortunately we didn’t have any cats boarding in the cattery but it still smells like them which we can work with. We practiced her drops all around the cattery and she did super well! She didn’t seem too bothered by the smells. From here we practiced her drops through the kennels and even around the alpacas! She couldn’t care less about her surroundings and did great with her drops! Keep up the good work, hopefully next time we have some cats to work around.||Focus: Desensitisation||A|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Hollys second session today was focused on fetch, to do this we have a tennis ball with a cut in it so we can put treats inside. This way Holly will go and get the ball, when she does we encourage her to bring it to us. When she comes to us we can get the treat out for her. This means she will be more likely to bring the ball back to us for the reward. Holly didn’t show much interest in picking the ball up but she did it a couple times. This can be done with any toy where you can hide treats inside. Keep practicing this one at home!||Focus: Foundation||B|
|Skill learnt: Ring a Bell||Comment: For Hollys last session we decided to have some fun. We decided to teach her how to ring a bell, to this we we need her to pull on the rope to get the clapper to hit the bowl. Although Holly didn’t make the bell ring she was starting to bite at the rope, considering she just started this today she progressed quickly. To start with we just held the piece of rope in-front of her and waited for her to show any behaviour towards it. After a while she showed more and more understanding of the skill. Keep working on this at home as she picked it up super quick.||Focus: Foundation||C+|
