Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Hollys first session we practiced recalls. We had our mentor down from Melbourne who taught us some new ways of teaching skills. First we conditioned her to the marker which is ‘come’ like our yes marker but just saying ‘come’. Then we lured her up so her chin was resting on our stomach this teaches dog when we say come we mean come right to us. Then we did this while coming standing. Luring her to our stomach saying ‘come’ then rewarding. She did really well and was great to see her back. Focus: Distance B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Hollys second session we practiced her hold skill. She knows that she has to our her mouth over it we just struggle getting her to hold the object, she’s that food motivated it’s crazy. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: In her last session we practiced her loose lead walking. She did really well with this skill, her engagement was fantastic and didn’t worry about the other dogs. Few times she would walk in front of me but still looking at me and to fix that all I would do is say ‘agh ah’ and tug on the lead and she stopped. Focus: Distraction A+

We recommend your next step should be…
