Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In her first session, Holly focused on working towards her novice trick title with her skill ring a bell. Holly enjoys training this skill but can become over excited and put the bell in her mouth and carry it around. The trainer held the bell to stop her from picking it up and began tapping her leg to encourage her to touch the bell with her paw. After this, she began to slowly touch the bell with her paw. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: The second session, Holly focused on learning the new skill of rope pull, for her trick title. Holly performed well, she quickly interacted with the rope, touching it with her nose. After several repetitions, she began to open her mouth onto the rope. This is good progress and was heavily rewarded. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In her final session, Holly focused on further developing her skill 'out' while playing. Holly loves to play and when she has a toy she does not want anyone to take it. To begin working on this skill the trainer simply said out and threw food on the floor. This helps Holly pair out with treats. As she was performing well the trainer challenged her with playing and using the out command. Holly initially struggled to release the toy but with some guidance from the trainer, she began to stop playing and get the treats when she heard the out command. Focus: Foundation C+
