|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Hera began her day with her ‘drop’ skill in the cattery with some loose lead walking. Hera was quite distracted at first, wanting to sniff every inch of the floor, but after a couple minutes she became focused and showed great engagement with the trainer. Her drops were alright, but if the trainer did not use a little bit of a hand lure, she would drop quite slow. The trainer focused on luring her into the drops again and she did really well! After a couple minutes of that Hera was back to dropping nicely from just the verbal cue, which is great! Keep working on this at home and remember to go back to basics if needed.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning||Comment: Next up, Hera continued to work on her ‘muzzle conditioning’, focusing on confidence as she is still nervous to let us clasp it on, and she still freezes up a bit once it is on. The trainer was able to clasp it on after a minute of presenting her the muzzle, putting her nose in and being rewarded. Once on, the trainer continued to focus on affection and frequent rewards, helping Hers understand the muzzle is a positive experience. She responded really well to this and even performed some skills; drop & sit, with a lure!! Keep on doing this at home and ensure you are making it as positive as possible for her to help her get confident in it again.||Focus: Confidence||X|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: To finish up, Hera continued to work on her ‘skateboard’ trick, focusing still on duration and luring her to push herself with 2 paws. She smashed it!! She absolutely loves her board and she gets the little hops when she realises she is going on it, ADORABLE!! She is so confident in putting 2 paws on and is began to push herself. She did so well! She could only push herself for a couple seconds, but it is still great! We would love to build her riding time on the board in the future! Definitely get her a skateboard for Christmas, she will love you forever and ever. Awesome work today, munchkin!||Focus: Duration||B|
