Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Her first session today focused on her place skill around calm dog distractions. For this we used one of the trainers dogs and had them on place. This allowed us to practice Hera’s place with dog distractions in a controlled manner. Hera did really well, she didn’t vocalise towards the other dog but she would glance in that direction frequently. Hera was still very engaged with the trainer and showed awesome progress! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Hera’s second session today focused on her loose lead and search skill in the cattery. We had quite a few active cats today so Hera was very aware of their presence. This gave us an awesome opportunity to use her search skill when she started to fixate on a cat. Hera’s engagement on the trainer was great when practicing loose lead, she just struggles to keep that focus when there is a cat moving about. The search command really helped her to redirect her mindset. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Ring a Bell Comment: For her last session today we had some fun with ring the bell. For this one they have to pull the rope to make it ring. We started out just getting her to target the rope, she started doing this straight away which is great! Because she already has basic knowledge of targeting this makes it easier. By the end of the session she managed to bite and pull on the rope a little bit! Keep working on this, even if it’s just a piece of rope/fabric that she pulls on. Focus: Foundation C+

We recommend your next step should be…
