|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Mr Henry began his day practicing his ‘emergency drop’ skill in the classroom. He SMASHED it!! Even with a dog distraction! He was a little distracted initially, but with the use of his non-reward marker “ah ah”, he refocused onto the trainer and performed perfectly for the remainder of the session and was rewarded with plenty of belly rubs. Keep pushing this skill at home so it remains as strong as possible!||Focus: Distraction||A|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Next up, Henry worked on his ‘quoits’ trick, focusing on building his duration with holding the ring. At first he was very focused and did pretty well, but lost engagement with it about half way through the session. Instead of pushing him, the trainer then moved onto his ‘rollover’ trick, still using a lure and he LOVED it! He had a burst of energy and did so well. Keep practicing this skill at home, but try and get him to slow down a little during it, he sometimes gets over excited and over rolls, haha! Great work!||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Spin||Comment: To finish up, Henry worked on his ‘spin’ skill in the classroom, focusing on fading the treat lure while having a doggo distraction. He aced it! He had amazing engagement and followed the directions his trainer gave him wonderfully! Keep practicing at home and continue to fade the lure some more and let us know how you go! So proud of Henry today!||Focus: Distraction||A|
