Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Session one with Henry we started with the skill “Door manners”. The trainer started by putting Henry into a drop and then slightly opening the door, he was rewarded for remaining in a drop. Throughout the session the trainer slowly increased the door opening until it was fully open. Henry was then released and rewarded. He did very well and impressed the trainers! This skill is good to practice at home using different doors to improve his skill further. Focus: Manners B+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: For session two Henry practiced the skill “Drop”. The trainer started off by testing his skill with distractions including people, movement, food, toy and dog. Henry did well, he had high engagement and did amazing at his drops. For the last few minutes of the session the trainer worked on asking for a drop while speed walking, Henry dropped on command while the trainer was still moving! Which was great to see. Focus: Distraction A+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For session three we practiced Henry’s skill of loose lead. We practiced this skill in the cattery with high distractions. Henry did very well, he had high engagement with the trainer and showed amazing loose lead the whole session. Focus: Distraction A
