Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Henry began his day at the pony club again, practicing his ‘loose lead’ walking adding in his ‘drop’ skill too. He did beautifully! Hen had great engagement and focus, dropping exactly when told!! Keep up the amazing work with him at home, his focus is getting so much stronger around dogs and it is great to see! Focus: Distraction A
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Next up at the pony club, Henry practiced his ‘drop’ skill again, this time through red light green light (play). Henry is not heavily interested in the tug toy, but if the trainer made it come to life, he was more engaged and chased after it. Once he was the most excitable the trainer would ask for a drop and Henry would perform wonderfully! There were a couple times Henry would get a little too razzed up and not drop all the way, but with the use of “ah ah”, he would follow through. Awesome work, Henry! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: To finish up, Henry practiced his ‘roll over’ skill, focusing on repetition and beginning to fade the lure. Henry did really well! Although he was tired from the pony club, he had the energy to get quite a handful of good roll overs! Keep practicing this at home and fade the lure some more and add in the verbal cue! Awesome stuff today, Mr Henry! Focus: Repetition B+
