Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: First session Henry worked on his loose lead. Today we worked out in the carpark around our male maintenance staff who were doing gardening and mowing the lawns. This worked on conditioning him around mowers, sounds, people and pushed the distractions for his loose lead. Henry did really well, showed little interest in what was going on around him, checked in well with his trainer and had no pulling. He was a bit slow in his walking and when asked to sit/drop was slow going into the skills but still did them. Great job Henry! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Exposure Comment: Henry’s second session we worked on some paw handling for our spa day/valentines theme. Henry will happily give his paws when asked but pulls them away when trying to lightly massage them, look between his toes, with the help of some yummy treats he began to allow the trainers to hold his paws for longer, this is great practise for grass seed checks/vet handling. We finished the session working on Henry’s hold skill, he is doing well mouthing at the object, we are now lightly holding it for him to help build his duration before rewarding and then with more practise we can begin to let go of the object all together. Focus: Conditioning X
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Final session Henry worked on some bike conditioning. The trainer had him tethered outside whilst moving past with the bike, rewarding him for being calm. We did this while he was in a drop and also at free liberty (not in a skill) he showed little interest in the bike and would go into a drop when asked while the back was moved past, he was a bit slow on his drops but did really well! Focus: Conditioning B
