Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Desensitisation Comment: Goose spent her first lesson desensitising to a new male trainer. Goose was showing her trainer she wasn’t comfortable with her trainer coming into her space. We spent some time with her throwing her treats to let her know that we were friendly while letting her get conditioned to our presence. By the end of the lesson, Goose was happy to come say hello to her new trainer. Focus: Desensitisation X
Skill learnt: Desensitisation Comment: Goose still wasn’t particularly happy with coming out this lesson either. Goose was happy to come over and say hello to her trainer but started getting very defensive when seeing the lead in the trainer’s hands. We went over some desensitisation to the lead, getting her comfortable with the trainer putting the lead over her head. After a bit of repetition she was happy to put the lead on without any resistance Focus: Desensitisation X
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For our last lesson, Goose came out and went around the facility for a confidence walk. Goose was unsure about coming out at first, but after a bit of time together Goose was happy to have a walk around, sniffing as we went to help desensitise her to the environment. After a bit of sniffing, Goose started coming over to her trainer for cuddles, showing her trust in the trainer and new environment. Focus: Conditioning C
