Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: In his first session, Ghost focused on further developing his skill loose lead walking within the classroom. We focused on this skill as he was overexcited and showed challenging behaviours such as pulling on the lead. Within the classroom, he was initially distracted by the other dogs, but with some guidance from the trainer, he quickly began to redirect his focus. Once focused Ghost performed well, he walked nicely and ignored the other dogs. He can become distracted by the environment but redirects his focus quickly. Focus: Foundation B+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In his second session, Ghost focused on further developing his skill drop with duration. We focused on this skill as he can struggle to hold this position under distractions. Ghost initially struggled to respond to the drop cue while in the classroom environment, the trainer completed a few repetitions of luring Ghost into position to guide him into what we are working on. The trainer was quickly able to fade the lure and add the verbal cue. When in drop he can struggle to hold duration, the trainer used a high reinforcement schedule (treats every few seconds) to encourage him to remain in position. This was quickly faded as he was performing well. Focus: Duration B
Skill learnt: Sit Comment: In his final session, Ghost focused on further developing his skill sit while excited using the training game red light, green light. We focused on this skill to help proof Ghost skills while excited. Ghost performed well, he enjoyed playing this game. He initially struggles to ignore the game to move into the sit position. However, as the session progressed he slowly began to understand the faster he sits the faster the game continues. Focus: Obedience C+
