Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Freya’s first session was drops in the kitchen. This is a busy spot in the kennels with people coming and going as well as all the good smells. Freya had a bit of the sillys when she first came into the kitchen and the trainer had to work with some basic commands to get Freya focused. Once settled Freya did really well. She broke a couple of times but her duration was great while the trainer moved around her and after breaking the first time for someone walking into the kitchen she managed to hold the next time. Was an awesome session for Freya. Focus: Duration B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Next up was place by the kennel yards. The trainer started quite a way from the yards and Freya did bark a little initially but soon focused. Throughout the session the trainer moved the place bed closer about three times and although Freya looked at the other dogs there was no barking! Freya did break a couple of times while trying to follow the trainer but overall considering the distractions Freya did an awesome job. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Final session was recalls. Freya did struggle with this at the start and the good poo smells were to great for her. The trainer moved to a different part of the yard and this did help Freya. As the session progressed Freya did improve but there is still work to do. At home practice in the backyard and increase the distractions. Don’t say come until it is sure she is returning to you. Focus: Repetition C
