Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Freya’s first session was loose lead walking down the main aisle of the kennels. She came nose to nose with a couple of dogs but continued walking and sniffed in passing. Awesome work. The trainer the. Tried to take her passed some other yards, however before even making it through the door Freya started barking. The trainer took a step back, got Freya to drop and trainer and Freya just sat for a while until Freya was no longer reacting. The trainer then was able to take her to the classroom passed the dogs. Freya did react to the last dog but all in all she did a great job and an area that will continue to work on. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Next session was recalls. This was done on a long lead and Freya did really well until she found alpaca poop! That was the end of it then! She didn’t recall like she had done earlier. The trainer took her to a section of the yard where there were less smelly stuff and Freya ended on a good recall. However, work around the pool is a clear goal for the future! Focus: Distraction C
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: Paws up was the final session for Freya and after some initial reminding on what needed to be done Freya did really well. The trainer then worked on getting Freya to put a paw on each item. This took a little time but she got there! Again another skill to build on. Focus: Repetition B
