2022-02-16

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Frey-Frey began her day revisiting her ‘skateboard’ trick, still focusing on getting her to push herself. She is doing quite well! She is very confident in pushing herself with 1 paw on, so the trainer was focused on getting her to have 2 paws on the board while pushing. If Freya were to take 1 paw off mid way, the trainer began to stop rewarding her and try again. Once 2 paws were on Freya would receive multiple treats to teach her this is what we want. Keep pushing this at home and let us know how you go! Remember she is still using a treat lure while on the board too! Our end goal for Freya is to be confident enough and perfect this skill so she can have a skateboard race with Mojo! Focus: Duration B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Next up, Freya worked on her ‘loose lead’ walking both outside and inside different environments. Freya has beautiful walking and engagement, no matter where she is, which is great! The trainer took her outside on both concrete and grass, and also inside the cattery and classroom with dog distractions. There was the odd time Freya would get excited and walk ahead, but with the use of her non-reward marker “ah ah”, she would walk back in line. Keep pushing the distraction level for her at home! Focus: Distraction A
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: To finish off, Freya practiced her ‘roll over’ trick, still focusing on fading the lure and she SMASHED IT! It’s so awesome to see how much her confidence is continuing to grow. The trainer was able to get her to roll over with just a slight lure, only having to move her hand over her head and she would roll onto her back then side. Keep practicing this at home, fade the lure by moving your hand further away from her. Let us know how you go! Awesome work today, Freya! Focus: Repetition B+
