Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Frankie’s first session was place training outside. He did find that the smells on the grass made it difficult for him to stay on place. The trainer worked with Frankie to help him stay on regardless of the smells and Frankie progressed really well with this. Going forward the distractions for Frankie will be pushed so that he can learn no matter what he has to stay on place. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: The second session for Frankie was drop. The trainer also did this session outside on the grass where Frankie does have a lot of trouble resisting the good smells. Frankie does get into the drop position well but does like to crawl to get to where he would like to go. So once again the trainer used the yes marker and a reward to help Frankie stay in position longer. The goal for next time is for Frankie to resist those smells and to not continue to crawl. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Loose lead walking was Frankie’s final session. He did really well with this although he was a little distracted with the farm animals as they got put in a different yard and were running. The trainer just change direction, used the yes marker and lured Frankie with food to help get the focus back on the trainer. The trainer also work a little on door manners and drops in the office and he did a great job with this but still needs some work for next time. Focus: Distraction C+
