Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Finn’s first session was loose lead walking in the main kennel aisle. At first he was very distracted and pulled a lot on the lead. The trainer worked in a very small area and Finn started to settle. At different times Finn became distracted by the other dogs but the trainer changed direction and got Finn’s focus back. Keep practicing at home in low distracting areas and change direction frequently. Focus: Distraction C
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Finn’s second session was place outside. In the first part of the session the trainer played red light green light with Finn. This involved playing with Finn and revving him up then asking for place. Finn didn’t to badly at this and something to practice with his drops as well. The next part of the session Finn did struggle a little with trainer movement and noise. As well as trying to get to sheep poo. By the end of the session he was starting to settle more which was great to see. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Final session for Finn was drops. The trainer did this inside and Finn was great when bubbles were being blown around him. However as the session progressed he started breaking position very easily. He also started mouthing the trainer. The trainer upped the frequency of the treats to help Finn stay in position longer and this did help but he was easily distracted. The trainers would recommend a private appointment. This will help you work on overcoming some of Finn’s unwanted behaviours as well as allowing everyone to be consistent with Finn’s training. Focus: Distraction C+

We recommend your next step should be…
