|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Evie was very excitable for her first session and was very food motivated. We started off spending about 5 minutes just sitting in the classroom giving her treats to help her adjust to the new environment, people and dogs. Evie settled very quickly and was able to focus on the trainer easily with all the other distractions present. We also worked on her place skill - she already has fantastic foundations in this skill and we were able to work on light movement distractions from the trainer and sending her to place from a distance, both of which she did really well with.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For her second session we worked on the basics of the drop skill from a stand ("sphinx drop"). Evie was great at following the lure and getting her front end down but it took almost half of the session before she started putting her butt down too! After a few more reps she was doing a fantastic job of going into a full drop with a lure. Practice this skill at home so that you can start building her duration in the skill.||Focus: Foundation||B|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: For her last session we worked on loose lead in the classroom. Evie was a typical excitable puppy and was initially much more interested in exploring the room than being next to the trainer. With lots of luring and yummy treats we were able to redirect her focus and she did start to settle throughout the session. We did also work on not rewarding her jumping behaviour and turning around each time she pulled a bit ahead. Evie listened really well to the trainer and had great engagement.||Focus: Foundation||B|
