Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Elton studied with his place skill. We went outside as Elton has been smashing the skill inside. Elton did well outside, hopping on the bed the majority of the tine, although sometimes needing a bit of time to understand what we were requesting of him. By the end of the lesson he was consistently hopping on quickly when asked. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Elton worked on this skill in the classroom. We get Elton's attention and use the verbal come before running backwards. This engages Elton to chase us. When Elton's at his fastest point to us we mark yes and lure him with a treat into a sit infront of us before making yes and giving him the treat. We then give him his release word and repeat. Elton did well, chasing us almost every time and going immediately into a sit. The other dogs in the room proved to be a bit of a distraction for him but when his engagement was on the trainer the skill was very solid. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: We went outside down to the carpark to work on Elton's loose lead. Elton did very well, staying right next to his trainer the whole lesson. He lost his engagement for a little but of the lesson but that didn't stop him from being right up again his trainer's side. Focus: Obedience A
