Ellie's Doggy Dayschool Report

2024-02-12

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Door Manners Comment: This session focused on her manners while attaching equipment. Ellie really struggled to settle and keep all four feet on the ground. The trainer took it slow, waiting for her to settle before proceeding. Once we were ready to go, we practiced her door manners and settling skills on the way outside. We then focused on building her engagement with loose lead walking. Although she was excitable outside she was able to focus on her trainer. Keep working on her manners, we don’t want to reinforce those over-excitable, jumpy behaviours because they can get dangerous when she is jumping really high. Focus: Manners C+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: This session we worked on some place training. We started out with the raised bed to get her mind on the task, then we switched to a towel. The idea with place is that we can change it to different objects. She picked this up quickly, even though she doesn’t fit on the towel the same rules apply! We mixed it up between quick repetitions on and off, as well as duration with the trainer moving around her! See how you go at home, try using different objects around the house - towel, jacket, big rock, wooden box, chair etc. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Her last session focused on her drop and sit skills. We practiced outside for extra distraction, however she seemed most distracted by people today! Each time someone walked past we had to work on holding her focus, otherwise she got too excitable and broke position. Make sure you are being consistent with your boundaries, reinforcing/rewarding good decisions heavily! Focus: Distraction B

We recommend your next step should be…
