Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Comment: This session was focused on introducing Echo to the 'place' skill within the classroom. Teaching place also helps educate Echo about impulse control. Echo happily went onto the bed, the trainer used a high reinforcement schedule (treat every five seconds) to encourage her to remain on the bed. Echo performed well and learned the basics of place quicky, the trainer was able to begin working on duration and distance. Focus: Manners B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead Comment: The trainer noticed Echo can display challenging behaviours while walking (pulling). The trainer began with basics, using a lure to encourage Echo to remain in the correct position. Echo struggled to focus and follow a lure during this session, as the low distracting environmental was too distracting. Focusing on building engagement with Echo is a key aspect of her training. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Crate Training Comment: The trainer used this session to introduce Echo to the reward marker 'yes'. Conditioning the reward maker helps Echo have better communication with her hander. Echo responded well to the reward marker, she began to respond to the marker before food was presented (looked at trainer). Focus: Repetition C-
