|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Spin||Comment: Dyson began his day with some ‘spins’ during his ‘loose lead’ walking outside. At first Dyson was very excitable, but he settled after a few minutes and had beautiful loose lead! His spins were also well performed, there were just a few times he would get confused and just jump up, but with the use of his non-reward marker “ah ah”, he would try again and 9/10 do it correctly. Spin is such a good skill to have as it is a mini recall and redirects unwanted behaviour. Keep up the great work!!||Focus: Distraction||A|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Next up, Dyson worked on his ‘roll over’ trick. Dyson did not show any prior knowledge to this skill, but did a brilliant job! The trainer began by placing Dyson into a drop, then moving the treat towards Dyson’s should and slowly moving it around his body, coaxing him to roll onto his side, then his back and the other side. At first it was a bit messy, but with persistence and repetition, he performed a few good roll overs!! AMAZING!! Keep practicing this at home, the better he gets the quicker we can start to fade the lure!||Focus: Foundation||B|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For Dyson’s last session, we focused on his ‘door manners’, using controlled positions; sit, drop and middles. Dyson did awesome! He went into each position asked and remained there until he was released, which is exactly what we want!! There was the odd time he would leave the middles position before the door was even opened, but with the use of his non-reward marker “ah ah”, he went back into position and waited patiently. Brilliant work Dyson!||Focus: Repetition||A|
