Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For his first session we worked on loose lead outside with another dog as a distraction. Dyson did some good work but there are a few areas he needs to improve in. His drops while walking were quite slow and he didn't always do them when asked. He also struggled with the engagement needed to follow the trainer during tight turns so we spent some time working on that. Working on these areas at home will help improve his focus while walking. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his second session we worked on the around skill from place. Dyson was very excitable for this and did need some guidance the first few times to settle into it. Once he did settle he was very good at it and we progressed from a cone to multiple objects and having him go around the trainer. He does need a bit of work on the verbal cue, he often wouldn't get off place unless he heard his release word, even if we did not ask for place so this resulted in some additional luring to get him off to do the around skill. Other than this and sometimes being too excitable to properly focus on what he was going around he did quite well! Focus: Repetition B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his last session we worked on Dyson's rollover skill. Dyson struggled a lot with this due to his excitability and didn't calm down enough to focus on what was being asked of him. We got him on to his side a few times but that was as far as he got for rollover. This would be a great skill to work on at home to help him slow down and focus during training. Focus: Foundation C
