Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Dyson did really well in his first session, working on some drops with duration and middles in the classroom around other dogs. Although he was super excited when we first entered the room with other dogs, we went back out and tried again and he was much more calm. During his session he kept great concentration but was always ready to get up and run around the seconded he got to! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: In his second session Dyson worked on his loose lead. We started with loose lead outside on his own. After doing really well, we introduced a dog distraction next to him. He did very well during this, keeping his focus on his owner, although occasionally glancing over to see where the other dog was, but then returning focus to his trainer. After doing so well, we tried walking down the side of the kennels with many dog distractions. This environment was much more distracting, with a treat in hand he did very well, but when the treat wasn’t there he wanted to say hello to everyone. Overall, he did very well during this session. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In Dysons last session, we worked on paws up! He did very well in this skill, after starting off luring onto the platform, Dyson understood the command with a small hand gesture by the end of the session. He seemed very proud of his paws up skill, and had a huge smile on his face! Working on this skill further, we can remove the hand gesture, only using the verbal command. Focus: Repetition C+
