Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Sit Comment: In dustys first session we trained sit. Because she’s only a puppy staying at the basics for now until she’s abit older. Dusty knew what to do for food she’s very food motivated which helps us as trainers. She did extremely well with the distractions we had such as other dogs and people. In her next session I would still like to work on this until she gets used of the word sit. Training this at home is a good way for them to knows manners, lure her nose back while your holding food in your hand and reward her with the word “yes” and food. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In dustys seconds session we trained drop. Cause she is new to all this we didn’t push her to hard and not as hard on her as the older dogs. Dusty will do anything for food so towards the end she knew exactly what to do. In her next session I would like to work on this more until she knows what to do and what the word means when we say “drop”. How we train this with her was having some treats in one hand while sitting on the floor putting your leg in a arch shape lure her nose under your leg until she drops then reward her by saying “yes” and treats. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Exposure Comment: In Dustys third session we just went for a walk out side by the second session she was exhausted which was expected. Dusty is such a sweat heart and is a smart dog. When we were out side I was still training her to sit and to drop but as I said she was exhausted. Focus: Repetition A+
