Duke's Doggy Dayschool Report

2024-01-10

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For his first session we took Duke next door to the Pony Club oval to test his loose lead in a new environment. Duke did really well for an area with a heap of new sights and smells! He walked nicely for most of it but would get distracted by cars and trucks driving past. He only stopped twice for sniffs and had great response to his "yes" marker while walking. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: For his second session we worked on drop around dogs in the kennels. Duke wasn't very fazed by the dogs moving and barking nearby but did still struggle a little with his drops today. He needed lures to get into the drops at the trainer's side and broke early quite a bit at the start. He did start improving near the end by going into drops quicker and starting to hold them better around the dogs. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: For his final session we worked on the paws up skill (getting him to put his paws on an overturned bucket). Duke was very enthusiastic in trying but didn't quite understand what was wanted this session. He tried pretty much everything around and over the bucket besides putting his paws on it! This will be a fun trick skill to continue on with to help work his brain while he is with us. Focus: Foundation D+

We recommend your next step should be…
