|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Dotti’s first session was place and for the first part the trainer got to stay on the place with just the trainer walking passed Dotti. Dotti did bark a number of times but the trainer totally ignored Dotti and she did stop. The trainer rewarded this behaviour and Dotti didn’t bark again during the session. The trainer also used musical instruments and a lawnmower to help distract Dotti. Although breaking a couple of times she did really well!!||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Drops were the focus of Dotti’s second session and initially she really struggled. She didn’t get in position and then she would jump straight back up again. The trainer used the uhuh word as Dotti does know how to drop. As the session progressed Dotti started focusing more on what needed to be done rather than the treats and she did much better. Holding the drop while the trainer moved around Dotti. Keep practicing this skill as these are the skills that are going to help Dotti with impulse control and have better manners.||Focus: Distraction||C|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Final session for Dotti was loose lead walking. The trainer started in the classroom to help get Dotti and it was raining! As the session continued and the trainer kept changing direction Dotti started to engage and walked well. The trainer the. Took Dotti outside and repeated the process as once again she got excited. But again working in a small area she soon settled. She got a little distracted by the animals but her attention was able to be refocused easily! It was a great session to end in. Well done Dotti!||Focus: Distraction||C+|
