Diesel is making good progress on his skills - keep up the great work at home, it really does show each time he comes here!
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning||Comment: For his first session we continued with Diesel's loose lead outside while wearing the muzzle. By putting his muzzle on first thing when we collect him from the kennels it becomes a positive thing and just another piece of equipment that we put on him before taking him out. Diesel did spend quite a bit of time rubbing his nose on things and trying to paw it off - he was focused only about 50% of the time. We'd like to see Diesel become more used to the muzzle so that he can engage with the trainer while it is on more. Pushing drops while walking can help to improve his focus.||Focus: Duration||C+|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For his second session we worked on emergency drops outside on different surfaces (grass/pavement/gravel) and around cats as an added distraction. Diesel did really well with this! He did struggle with some focus the first time a few dogs barked at him through the house gate but then was able to maintain his drop. He growled once at one of the cats in the cattery but after a few laps past them he gave no attention to them and was focused 100% on the trainer. Much better results with dogs and cats than last time which is great progress and continuing to work on this will help him keep his focus around other animals.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For his last session we spent a bit of time working on Diesel's paw trick (putting his paw to the trainers opposite foot). He is still learning but we can see the effort that has already gone into this. He did quite a few good repetitions with each foot but can still get a bit confused and use the wrong paw on the foot. Keep practicing this at home, he is a smart boy and is making good progress on it.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
