|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: To begin Diesel’s day, he worked on his ‘roll in a blanket’ trick. We are still trying to get him to hold onto the corner for a longer time, so we can soon add in the roll over part. He is such a clever boy and his duration is building nicely, he tends to still let go at the ‘yes’ marker, rather than this release word ‘break’. We want to teach Diesel to only stop holding the blanket when we release him, so the trainer focused on saying ‘break’ just before he let go, to help implant that in his brain. Keep on practicing this at home!!||Focus: Duration||B|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Next up, Diesel worked on his ‘ring toss’ skill, focusing on repetition to get him used to putting the ring over the stand multiple times, not as a once off. He did really well!! He was able to complete this 4 times during the session, YAY!! Keep practicing this with him and remember to use his non-reward marker “ah ah” if he is not quite close enough!! Super proud of you, Diesel!!||Focus: Repetition||A|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: To finish up, Diesel worked on his ‘sit pretty’ trick, focusing on duration. He did SO well! He is just so cute with this sit pretty. He was able to hold the skill for a few seconds, but with a lure still needed. Although the lure does not need to be directly in front of his nose, if the trainer tried to remove it, he would break. Keep practicing this skill at home and to build duration, remember to reward more and add in his release word before he falls! Such good work today, Diesel!||Focus: Duration||A|
