Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Session one with Diego we started with his skill of place. This session the trainer worked on his duration on place. The trainer asked Diego to go to place and once on the trainer tested him with different distractions including people, food and dogs. Diego did so well ! He showed great understanding of the skill and only broke the skill a couple of times which was corrected. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Session two with Diego we practiced his skill of drop in the classroom working around Arlo. Working around Arlo will help create a strong skill for keeping them calm at home. Diego did start off with poor duration, he goes into the skill well but did struggle to remain in the skill. After a couple of repetitions Diego’s duration began to set in. He remained in a drop under high distractions in the classroom. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Session three with Diego we practiced some vet handling skills with Mr Arlo. They both were put into a drop and rewarded through the session while the trainers used stethoscope, brushed and checked their eyes, ears , mouth and paws throughout the session. Diego did so well! He was very patient and did amazing throughout the whole session which was great to see. He does get a bit inpatient with his paws being touched which is something to work on. Focus: Conditioning A
