Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In his first session, Mr Dave was very excited to be training and loved learning about his skill drop before challenging him with bigger distractions. Dave shows a good basic understanding of the drop cue but can struggle with duration. During this session, we went back to basics to ensure he has a good foundation with his drop skill. Dave worked well and began to show good progress both going into drop and holding position. Focus: Back to Basics B+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: In his second session, Dave focused on further developing his skill loose lead around high distractions including being outside around multiple people and dogs. Dave was initially very excited and distracted by the environment. However with some guidance and a small lure to guide him into the correct position he began to perform well. As the session progressed he began to build his engagement independent of the lure. We suggest continuing to practise this at home. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: In his final session, Dave focused on building his recall with the middle position. Dave was initially a little distracted and required a lure to focus. Once engaged Dave performed very well, the lure slowly faded as he was going into the middle position well. Focus: Foundation A+
