|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: First up for Dakota was filming for her trick title. She smashed her dropped today. After a few repetitions she was able to drop better without rolling over and held the position while the trainer walked around the room. This was repeated with sit. This took a little longer as Dakota wanted to drop not sit. But she got there. The session ended with kennel up. Which by the end she was doing a great job!||Focus: Repetition||B|
|Skill learnt: Desensitisation||Comment: Next up was noise desensitisation. The trainer used the dog dryer to start with and pointed it at different things to achieve different noises and Dakota was great and was able to perform basic obedience. The trainer then tried the air compressor gun with air coming out of the gun thing??? Dakota didn’t do well with this and the trainer got another trainer to help so distance could increase. Dakota did get a little better although when the trainer sat down Dakota did climb into her lap! But this is a noise that we will work with again as the distance couldn’t be closed.||Focus: Desensitisation||C|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Last up was videoing leg weave and then working on rope pull. She did well with the leg weave until the lead came off and then she just dropped and barked! Think she was annoyed treats weren’t being dispensed quick enough. Rope pull started with Dakota being rewarded for touching the rope. And then as she was doing this consistently the trainer withheld treats until she offered the new behavior of putting the rope in her mouth. Then next it was pulling the rope. The pull didn’t quite happen so something to work on next time. The session ended with lots of cuddles from the two trainers in the room!||Focus: Repetition||C+|
