Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In Dakota’s first session we trained ‘head down’. At first we were just luring her down with food then rewarding her, then eventually I would point to the floor and she would hold her head there, because she knew what she had to do I was only rewarding her if she would hold her head down at this point because that’s exactly what we want. She did amazing at this skill I would try this at home the exact way first to refresh her brain then to start test her brain. Focus: Duration B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Dakota’s second session we trained the tunnel, at first we were throwing food in the tunnel for her to get then we were making her come back through the tunnel as well, because other wise the led would keep getting caught. Towards the end we were still throwing food through the tunnel but adding the world ‘tunnel’ because if we were throwing food through she would just sit in the tunnel!! She did really well though and picks up skills so easily. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Dakota’s last session we trained conditioning her to truck noises. I found some on YouTube so we were playing trick reversing noises while doing drops and spins. She was unsure at first was alert but still did the skills. Eventually she got used to the noises and was completely fine with them which was great. Focus: Distraction B+
