|Skill learnt: Desensitisation||Comment: First up for Dakota was the dreaded sauce bottle. As the trainer got the bottle and got organised to start the session Dakota was trying everything to distance herself from the bottle. Once settled for the session Dakota was focused on the food and not the bottle. Throughout the session the trainer got Dakota to touch the bottle and move the bottle and towards the end of the session the trainer was able to squeeze the bottle near Dakota while she continued to take treats. Great session and Dakota worked hard around something she clearly didn’t like.||Focus: Desensitisation||X|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Ring toss was next and it was funny to see Dakota get vocal as the trainer pushed Dakota for more advanced behaviours. The trainer started with getting Dakota to pick up the ring and do what she wanted with it. The trainer then started to ask for Dakota to get the ring on the board or pole. This is where Dakota started getting a little frustrated. However, Dakota worked hard to figure out what was needed. She got the ring very close to the pole numerous times and on the pole a few times. Dakota is quite close to making the connection with what she needs to do. Keep sessions short with this but frequent.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Last up was hold. The trainer used a wooden spoon for this and Dakota was a little hesitant at first but just asking for a touch soon had Dakota grabbing the spoon. Dakota would hold the spoon for a little time, while the trainer still held onto it also. Dakota also tugged on the spoon while holding it. Next time the goal will be for Dakota not to try to play tug with the spoon and still hold it while the trainer lets go of the spoon.||Focus: Repetition||C|
