Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Dakota’s first session was loose lead walking near the kennels. Dakota really struggled with this a d the trainer worked in a very small area. Changing direction constantly to help get Dakota’s focus. Towards the end of the session Dakota settled and was much more engaged. Next time the trainer will work further on this with Dakota to help her resist the distractions. Focus: Distraction D+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: The second session for Dakota was drops and sits using the ball as her reward. This helps really make the training fun for Dakota. Drops were easy for Dakota but she struggled with sits. So that is something to work on in future sessions. Training this way Dakota got to burn some of her energy as well as practice her recalls and putting the lead on her when she is excited. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) Comment: As she is only young and noise sensitive the trainer took Dakota through the confidence course. Dakota was hesitant at first and struggle to navigate the poles that are set up. However by the end of the session she was starting to go around the course easily. Focus: Repetition X
