Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Dakotas first session we trained hold. Now cause she knows pull she was struggling to hold it in her mouth. But everytime she put the object in her mouth I would reward then as she progressed to hep her hold the object I would then say good girl, good girl, while her having the object in her mouth this will help her understand that we want her to hold not to pull the object. She did pretty well we will keep practicing this skill don’t think it will take her too long. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Dakota’s second session we trained drops down near the road, hoping there would be some trucks going by. There were a few trucks and she dod really well just watching them go by in her drops. We then played some truck sounds I know it’s not the same but we had to improvise abit today. If you see one coming up put her in a drop, put your foot on her lead and give her as much treats as possible. Focus: Distraction A+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Dakota’s last session we conditioned her to orbit. Now this skill can be really tricky for dogs especially when they have good knowledge of the basics such as sit and drop which she was doing if I was luring her back. So we did it like paws up and just conditioning her back legs to go around something, eventually they will be going around you. She knew exactly what to do while she was in paws up didn’t have to push her around my body she was doing it her self which was fantastic. This is something you can try at home if you do have trouble with her walking backwards around you. Focus: Repetition B+

We recommend your next step should be…
