A great first day for Daisy

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Daisy’s first session was conditioning to the classroom and learning her yes marker. She did well with this and enjoyed being in the classroom. The trainer then introduced her to the place skill. This is a great skill for dogs to have to learn to settle and relax and is great for when visitors come to your house. Daisy progressed well with the place skill and going forward it will be good to get daisy to learn to stay on the bed for longer.||Focus: Repetition||D+|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Second session for Daisy was drop. She did struggle with the skill from a standing position. From a sitting position Daisy was dropping while a food lure was used. As the session progressed Daisy started to drop from a standing position. Going forward increasing the duration that Daisy can hold position would be a goal.||Focus: Repetition||D+|
|Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object)||Comment: To help Daisy with confidence the trainer used the paws up skill. This involves getting Daisy to put her two front on different objects. At first Daisy did well with this but did struggle on some items. This is something that can be practiced at home easily by luring Daisy into different objects.||Focus: Repetition||C|
|Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building)||Comment: This was an extra session for Daisy today. She did struggle with this and was very nervous. Next time the trainer would like to see Daisy go through this a bit more confidently. But great first go.||Focus: Repetition||X|
