|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: For Daisy’s first session today we worked on place training. She did so well with this she quickly followed the lure onto the bed and soon didn’t even need the lure, just the word “place” and gesturing to it. She broke a couple times to try and reach another dog but quickly corrected herself after hearing “ah ah” and jumped back on with some gentle pressure. To improve this, more distractions can be slowly introduced.||Focus: Distraction||C+|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For Daisy’s second session today we worked on her drops, focusing mainly on duration. She followed the lure very well into position but wouldn’t hold position very long, so to increase the time, she was heavily rewarded whilst in position and released quickly before she could break herself. This can then be increased over time. This needs to be practiced in a low distraction environment as she is easily distracted.||Focus: Duration||C+|
|Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building)||Comment: For the last session today we put Daisy through the confidence course. This gets her walking over different surfaces such as, tyres, logs, gravel, fencing and all sorts. This is a great way to help them overcome fear of objects and work their way through. She was very slow to start with and a bit cautious but by the end she was running through and having a jolly sniff of everything.||Focus: Confidence||B|
