Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: In Daisy’s first session today we trained recall inside, outside was to distracting for her and what we say is it’s easier to keep there engagement then to try get it back again. With this skill I would throw some food in front of me one she went and got it I would call her name, then when she was at my feet I would say ‘come’ and run backwards so she associates the word ‘come’ to coming towards you. In her next level I’d like to still work on this with her. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: In her second session we trained around, this is a great recall skill as they have to go around something and come back. She did great with this we would lure her around the cone and back onto place. Next level I’d like to move the cone out abit further for her. Focus: Distance B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In Daisy’s last session we trained conditioning to the lead and abit of drops as well. With the lead conditioning she was fine with the slip lead we were using it might be the harness i don’t know if you only use it while she’s in the car or if you walk her on it, but harness create pressure on your dogs body so when your pulling them back she will want to pull back which creates frustration and can be uncomfortable on there bodies, if using just in the car that’s perfect because it’s for safety, conditioning her to the harness is all about making it a positive experience, having it on her and playing with her or treating her. That will help a lot, she was fine with the lead we were putting on her today. Focus: Duration C+
