Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: In her first session, the trainer challenged Cookie to practice multiple skills next door at the pony club while dogs and horses were nearby. Throughout this session, the main focus was on maintaining her engagement with no food rewards. To help maintain her engagement we used her known skills of sit and drop. Cookie performed well, she showed good engagement throughout the whole session, however, can be distracted by the surrounding environment (grass, poo, etc). Focus: Obedience A
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: In her second session, Cookie focused on further developing her skill middle as a recall around dog distractions. Cookie performed well, she responds to the middle command and goes straight into position. She was initially distracted and struggled while on the long line, but quickly began to perform well. Cookie successfully recalled off-dogs into the middle position. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In her final session, Cookie focused on learning the new skill jump for joy, we focused on this skill so we can begin teaching jump rope. Before working on jump rope Cookie must first learn how to jump correctly. Using treats as motivation the trainer encouraged her to jump into the air. It took Cookie a moment to understand what the trainer was asking but once she understood she began to do little jumps on her back paws. Focus: Foundation B
