Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Cookie began her day with ‘drop’ skill, focusing on door manners. Cookie was very excitable at first, barking at the trainer wanting to just zoom out of the kennels, but she resisted the temptation and remained in her drop until released. The trainer tested Cookie with multiple doors; kennel, kitchen, cattery and classroom. Cookie aced this training session, but if you are having difficulties with this at home, use her non-reward marker if she breaks and try again. She does know it, she just likes to test you sometimes. Awesome work, Cookie Monster! Focus: Manners A+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Next up, Cookie worked on her ‘chin rest’ skill, focusing on duration for balancing an object on her nose. Cookie was very talkative at first, but settled down after a minute or so. Cookie was able to balance a little notebook on her nose for approximately 4-6 seconds, yay!! She has such good understanding of this skill and continues to grow with it, keep up the awesome work!! When the trainer tried to balance a treat on her nose, she would not hold it as long, probably just wanting to eat it ASAP! Fantastic efforts, Cookie! Focus: Duration B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: To finish up, Cookie worked on her ‘skateboard’ trick, focusing on having 3 paws on the board and pushing herself. Cookie did so well!! At first she would only push herself with 2 paws, but with some encouragement and treats, she got 3 paws on and pushed herself, following a small lure! Yay! The trainer tried focusing on fading the lure, but Cookie would often hop off the board if it was too far away. We would love for Cookie to be able to perform this skill without the need for a lure in the future! Great work!! Focus: Duration B+

We recommend your next step should be…
