Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For her first session we continued working on Cookie's chorus line kicks. She started it off quite quickly settling back into the base position and while she was still using her mouth a fair bit when asked for shake/paw she was also offering her paw fairly reliably. We did find it was sometimes a bit easier for her if we tapped her shoulder in middles for each leg rather than having the hand in front of her so this could be a good way to progress the skill. She did lose a lot of focus when Jess and Scott entered the room and it took a bit of time to re-engage her for the skill. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For her second session we worked on her hotdog skill with an Aussie twist using a flag. Cookie took a bit of time to work out what we wanted as the flag is quite different from the usual towel she uses. She did get several attempts of doing it correctly but also did a lot of grabbing the corner and then spinning instead of rolling over! She was a bit frustrated but pushed through and finished well. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For her last session we took Cookie down to our Aus day photoshoot area and used the opportunity to work on her sit pretty onto an inflatable ring with her paws. This was a bit tricky for Cookie as she had to balance herself correctly to make sure she didn't push down too hard on the ring. She was doing really well by the end and was starting to hold it for several seconds even! Focus: Duration B
