Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Session one with cookie we started with the skill “Door manners”. Cookie to begin with was very excited and didn’t have much engagement with the trainer. Although after a few “ah ah” corrections she was back to it. The trainer was asking for a drop before entering through a door way, then once the trainer was ready cookie was released and rewarded for her patience. For the remainder of the session the trainer used different doors with different distractions around HG and cookie did very well, having great engagement and duration. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Session two with cookie we practiced her skill of “Drop” with high distractions outside the kennels cookie has great drops with great duration although she can struggle when getting too close to the kennels. The trainer took it back a step taking back some distance. By doing this cookie had great engagement and had better duration. Cookie did very well at her drops outside the kennels! Focus: Distraction A+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: For session three with cookie we practiced her Red light Green light emergency drops. The trainer was running around with cookie playing with her followed by using the verbal cue “Drop”. Cookie did amazing at this skill! Showing high engagement and understanding. Although cookies drops were on the slower side her duration was great! There were other people and dogs in the classroom for distractions and cookie didn’t mind at all. Focus: Repetition A
