|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For Cookies first session we worked on her chin rest skill. She did well but was still very intrigued when the trainers hand holding the treat moved. By the end of the session she would watch the trainers hand but end up looking to the trainer and get rewarded. This is great because instead of focusing on the moving hand she is engaged with the trainer. To improve this, keep working on moving the hand with the treat around and wait for engagement.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: For Cookies second session we worked on her place skill with food distraction. Firstly we sent her to place and threw a couple treats on the ground near her, to start with she broke position a couple times but quickly grasped the task at hand. We moved to a small bowl of kibble next to the bed, releasing her and then asking her to go back to place without paying attention to the bowl. This she struggled with a bit, so we worked with releasing her further away from the bowl and slowly decreasing the distance.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For her last session we worked on her skateboarding skills and her drop durations. She did very well with her skateboarding, she still needs a lure but she is very confidence with the movement of the board and has good use of her back legs! To finish off the session we worked on her drop durations without being so vocal. She was very whiney but as soon as she was quiet for a few seconds she got a reward. It took her a while to get the idea but she soon settled down and waited quietly and patiently for a treat.||Focus: Duration||C+|
