|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Conditioning||Comment: In Cookie’s first session today we had her conditioning to where the treats were coming from. Re visiting the basics with our mentor for the day. Brent wanted the dogs to come towards us for the treats, they didn’t have to be doing a skill just want them focused on us especially around the distractions we had. Such as four other dogs and Brent coming around showing us what to do.||Focus: Repetition||A+|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: In her second session we re visited the drop command. Focusing on the hand with treats driving towards us, then from the hand on our leg drive towards there feet, holding that hand position until there in the full drop position. Cookie did really well with teaching her to drop like this as she has a very strong drop skill, she always waited to be released and didn’t take much notice of the other four dogs.||Focus: Distraction||A+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Cookies last session we spoke to the mentor Brent about her barking, as we know she barks for attention. And I heard you have been trying to teach her ‘shh’ but won’t. He spoke about if she barks it’s a ‘agh agh’ and a quick tug on the lead and she stopped and did so well. We then practiced her spins and her walking in middle forwards and backwards. Her engagement was all on me and not the other four dogs again which was fantastic.||Focus: Distraction||A+|
