|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: In her first session, Cookie focused on further developing her skill drop with duration and distance. Cookie responds well to the verbal cue drop with a hand signal. She can struggle to hold duration when in drop, but with some guidance, she began to maintain it well. As she was performing well the trainer began to walk around her and move away (creating distance). Cookie performed well, maintaining her drop. We suggest continuing to challenge her at home with this skill.||Focus: Foundation||B|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: In her second session, Cookie focused on further developing her skill of loose lead around dogs, cats and birds. We focused on this skill to build her impulse control around other animals. Beginning in the classroom around other dogs, she was initially distracted but with some guidance, she began to perform well. As she was performing well the trainer began walking into the cattery, past the birds and cats. Cookie lost her focus when walking past the birds but after a few repetitions, she began to perform well.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: In her final session, Cookie focused on further developing her skill place within the busy classroom environment (two dogs training nearby). Cookie performed very well, she showed good knowledge of this skill by walking straight onto the bed. While on place she initially struggled to hold duration, but with some guidance, she quickly began to maintain it well. The trainer began to challenge her by creating distance and distractions, including tennis balls. Cookie continued to perform well despite the added distractions.||Focus: Duration||A+|
