Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Today Cookie began with her ‘skateboard’ skill, focusing on getting her used to having 3 paws on rather than just 2. Cookie struggled to get her back paw up, often she would shift so only her 2 front paws were on horizontally and not vertically, leaving room for her back paw. After several tries, she finally started to understand and put her back paw on, yay! The trainer then kept repeating this, luring her on and off the board, letting Cookie familiarise herself with the new task at hand. Keep up the great work, next we will start adding movement once she is comfortable! Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Cookie’s next session was some ‘loose lead’ walking through the kennels with plenty of dog distractions. Cookie was a little distracted at first, but after a couple walk throughs up and down, she managed to give the trainer pretty good engagement for the remainder of her session, which is awesome! We want Cookie to keep progressing with this so we are able to have her full focus all the time, not just some of the time! Keep it up! (: Focus: Repetition B+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: To finish Cookie’s day, she practiced her ‘drop’ skill with red light green light. The trainer got Cookie razzed up with toys and lots of movement and asked for a drop. Cookie was very responsive to this and dropped every time without fail. Even when another dog entered the room she remained focused on the trainer and listened intently. What a great way to finish the day! Keep up increasing those distractions, she is doing so well! Focus: Distraction A
