Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Place was first up for Coco today and there were a couple workmen in the classroom. This threw Coco a little at first but she soon settled but still wanted to follow the trainer off the place bed. A couple of Uhuh and leading Coco back on meant Coco started increasing the time she spent on the bed with distractions. Halfway through the session another dog came in to train and the trainer took turns to walk passed each other. Coco did a great job. It is fantastic to see Coco really enjoying the session. She looks happy and her tail starts to wag at times. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Next the trainer worked on drops. Coco started the session off well and was dropping from a sit position consistently. However there were some loud noises and this distracted Coco and she then stopped taking treats. After some pats and a chest rub Coco started taking treats again but wasn’t keen for the drops after the loud noise. Focus: Repetition C
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Last up was loose lead walking. The trainer took Coco to a quiet part of the property and it was fantastic to see Coco start to engage more with the trainer. She did pull a little heading out so the trainer headed in the other direction and this is when Coco started to check in with the trainer. After doing this a few times Coco was walking well! Such a great session. Focus: Distraction B
