Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) Comment: We took Clarrie to our confidence course to start off with today. Clarrie wasn't taking treats as we started our day together, so we went down to get him having some fun and to get him more comfortable. Once down in the course, Clarrie started coming out his shell and zooming around the course. He then started happily taking treats the rest of the day. Focus: Confidence C+
Skill learnt: Exposure Comment: We introduced Clarrie to the hoop, getting him to walk through it. Clarrie was very hesitant at going near the hoop at first, so we practiced luring him through with a treat. We didn't force him through, although not letting him run away either with soft lead guidance. As he got the courage to make his way through We gave him lots of praise and a treat. As we continued this he got more and more confident with the hoop, going through by himself easily. We then started to raise the hoop, putting it on a step. This once again made Clarrie unsure about the obstacle. Once he had gone through some more luring he finished the lesson going through the hoop by himself for a treat. Focus: Confidence B
Skill learnt: Exposure Comment: We finished by getting Clarrie to make his way through a tunnel, using a bunch of treats to lure him in. We started putting treats inside right at the edge of the tunnel to get him to just interact with the tunnel. Once he was comfortable going up to the tunnel we started putting the treats further into the tunnel making him have to climb in to get them. We continued this until Clarrie was comfortable going all the way through the tunnel to get the treats inside. We then got him to go through the entire tunnel to get the treat. Clarrie went from being hesitant to go near the tunnel to being able to climb through by himself when asked by the end of the lesson. Focus: Confidence C+
