Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Session one with Clancy we practiced his place skill. Due to other dogs being in the classroom Clancy did start off reactive and distracted with no engagement. Although after a few minutes he did stop reacting and he started taking treats! Clancy did start to build better engagement with the trainer as well as having great duration. Clancy did show improvement although If there was too much movement around the classroom it was too high of a distraction and he would then loose all engagement and duration. Focus: Distraction C
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Session two with Clancy we practiced his drop skill. Again this skill was practiced in the classroom with dog distractions. Clancy was very reactive! Pressure on the lead and “ah ah” was not enough to stop Clancy he didn’t care about pressure at all. So the trainer tried a spray bottle of water, one spray and “ah ah” worked perfectly! Clancy stoped reacting and had great engagement. For the remainder of the session Clancy did very well with close to no reactivity which was amazing to see. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Session three with Clancy we practiced his loose lead skill in the cattery. Clancy did very well with his loose lead in the cattery considering the distractions! Clancy was rewarded through the session for his loose lead walking. Clancys next step for this skill would be moving to the classroom. Focus: Obedience B
