Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: For her first session we worked on drop duration in the classroom with no other dogs around. She was a bit distracted and disengaged with the trainer initially but after bringing out the Fritz she was much better and more focused on the skill. At the beginning she would pop straight back up out of drop but as the session progressed she started holding it longer with regular treats during the drop. At the end of the session she was able to hold it for a good minute while another trainer moved around the area with only a few treats throughout the time period. Big improvement from Chilli from the start of the session! Focus: Duration B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: For her second session we continued work on her place skill. Chilli was a bit reluctant to go onto the bed today and broke quite a bit at the start of the session. For the first half we worked on continuing to build her duration and then moved onto starting movement distractions (taking a step or two back from the bed). She improved quite well in this but does need some more work on going on and off the bed to help with her reluctance to go on. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Chilli wasn't interested in the treats anymore for her last session. We worked on some engagement but she became completely distracted once Chief entered the classroom and struggled to stay focused on the trainer. Working on her engagement and independence from Chief will help her become more focused during training sessions. Focus: Conditioning X
